NSW Bond Collection

Some general things to be aware of:

• A landlord can ask for up to 4 weeks rent in bond

• You cannot request or receive additional bond payments ('top-ups') during the tenancy

• A landlord will get to agree to the release of the bond at the end of the tenancy if there are no disputes

Victoria Bond Collection

Some general things to be aware of:

• Rental bonds in Victoria are to be lodged with the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA)

Queensland Bond Collection

Some general things to be aware of:

• A landlord can request up to 4 weeks rent in bond (where rent is $700 or less per week)

• There is no maximum bond amount specified by law where the rent is greater than $700 per week
